Social Media Post Design

We design posts, carousels and stories that look like they belong to one brand, sized correctly for every platform and backed by templates your team can reuse.

What social media post design covers

Social media post design is the visual side of your feed: single-image posts, multi-slide carousels, stories, highlight covers and the occasional announcement graphic. Each one has a small job to do — stop someone mid-scroll, get one message across, and make it obvious which business it came from.

We also think about how posts sit together. On most profiles, visitors see your grid before any single post, so we plan colours and layouts across a batch to make the profile page look organised at a glance. Highlight covers and pinned posts get the same treatment, because they are often the first thing a new visitor checks.

The difference between a feed that looks professional and one that looks improvised is rarely talent alone. It is consistency: the same fonts, colours, margins and logo placement used on every post, so that thirty posts in a month read as one account rather than thirty unrelated images. That consistency is what we build for you.

Who needs regular post design

Any business that posts more than occasionally benefits from a designed system rather than one-off graphics. Typical examples:

  • Clinics and hospitals sharing health tips, doctor introductions and camp announcements.
  • Real estate agencies posting new listings, site-visit invitations and project updates.
  • D2C brands running product launches, offers and customer-education carousels.
  • Coaching institutes announcing batches, results and exam-preparation tips.
  • Restaurants and cafés promoting menus, festive specials and events.
  • Jewellery shops presenting new collections and festive-season campaigns.

If you would rather not handle planning and posting yourself, our social media management service covers the calendar, captions and publishing, with design included.

What you receive

  • Platform-correct sizes: square and portrait feed posts, 9:16 stories and carousel slides built at the dimensions each platform expects, so nothing is cropped or blurred on upload.
  • Reusable templates: layouts for recurring post types — tips, quotes, offers, announcements, testimonials you collect yourself — in your brand style.
  • Editable source files: Figma or Canva files so your team can change a date, price label or headline without coming back to us.
  • Exports ready to post: PNG or JPG files in RGB, named clearly by date or topic.
  • Carousel continuity: slides designed as a sequence, with a clear first slide and a final slide that tells people what to do next.
Text inside images should be short. The caption carries the detail; the graphic carries one idea. Posts that try to fit a whole brochure into one square usually get scrolled past.

How we work, step by step

  1. Brief: we collect your logo, colours, fonts, reference accounts you like and the topics you plan to post about.
  2. Style direction: we design a small set of sample posts to lock in the look before producing in volume.
  3. Templates: the approved style is turned into templates for each recurring post type.
  4. Production: posts for the agreed period are designed and shared as a batch for review.
  5. Revisions and approval: you comment on the batch, we revise, and approved files are delivered along with the sources.

Working in batches rather than one post at a time keeps the feed consistent and gives you time to review properly instead of approving on the go.

Tools and files

We design in Figma and Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator depending on the work, and build editable templates in Canva when your team wants to make small changes themselves. Photos come from your own shoots or from properly licensed stock libraries, and fonts are either free for commercial use or licensed — never copied from somewhere without permission.

Real photos of your own premises, team and products generally build more trust than generic stock, so we use them wherever the quality allows. Where stock images are needed, they come from properly licensed libraries.

What affects timeline and cost

  • Volume: a monthly batch of posts takes longer than a handful of launch graphics.
  • Whether a brand style exists: if you already have a brand kit, we can start producing almost immediately.
  • Carousels versus single posts: a ten-slide carousel is closer to a small document than a single image.
  • Content readiness: having copy and photos ready before design starts avoids back-and-forth.
  • Illustration or custom imagery: hand-built illustrations take more time than photo-based layouts.

Common mistakes we help avoid

  • Changing fonts and colours every week, so the account never builds recognition.
  • Placing important text where profile icons, buttons or captions cover it in stories.
  • Using low-resolution logos or screenshots that look blurry once compressed by the platform.
  • Packing too much text into one graphic instead of splitting it into a carousel.
  • Using images found on search engines without checking the licence.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead do you design posts?

Most clients work in monthly batches designed a week or two ahead, which leaves time for review. Urgent posts for news, offers or festivals can be added between batches when needed.

Will I get the editable files or only the images?

Both. You receive the exported images ready to post and the editable Figma or Canva files, so small text changes do not need to come back to us.

Can you design for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn at the same time?

Yes. We build each post at the right size for every platform you use, adapting the layout rather than simply stretching one image.

Do you write the captions as well?

Post design focuses on the visuals. Captions, hashtags and scheduling are part of our social media management service, which can be combined with design.

What if I don’t have a brand style yet?

We can set up a simple style as part of the first batch, or start with a brand kit if you want a fuller foundation.
