Banner & Poster Design

We design large-format banners and posters that can be read from across the road, with files built at the exact size your printer needs.

Large format has different rules

A banner or hoarding is seen for a few seconds, often from a moving vehicle or from the other side of a street. That changes everything about the design. There is no time to read paragraphs, so the layout needs few words, large type, strong contrast and one clear message — usually what you are, what you offer and how to reach you.

Location matters too. A banner on a busy road is read from a distance at speed; a poster in a clinic waiting area is read up close by people with time to spare; an exhibition backdrop needs to work behind people standing in front of it. We design for where the piece will actually be seen, not just its dimensions.

Large format also has technical demands. The file must be built at the right physical size and resolution for the printing method, or the print can come out blurry, stretched or with the wrong colours. We handle that preparation so your printer receives files they can run straight away.

Who needs banners and posters

  • Retail shops and showrooms needing shop fascia boards, window graphics and sale banners.
  • Real estate developers with site hoardings, project boards and exhibition backdrops.
  • Coaching institutes promoting admissions and results around the city.
  • Clinics and hospitals with signage, health-camp banners and waiting-room posters.
  • Restaurants announcing openings, menus and festive offers.
  • Manufacturers and exporters exhibiting at trade fairs with stall backdrops and standees.

Seasonal and festive campaigns are a common case. A shop that runs banners for several festivals a year benefits from a consistent campaign style that can be adapted quickly for each occasion, rather than a completely new design every time.

Formats we design for

  • Flex banners and hoardings for outdoor use, from shop boards to large roadside formats.
  • Vinyl graphics for windows, walls and vehicles.
  • Roll-up standees and pop-up backdrops for exhibitions, events and reception areas.
  • Event and campaign posters in standard paper sizes.
  • Web banners for your website hero area and marketplace listings, adapted from the print design.

Print files are prepared in CMYK at the size and resolution your printer specifies, with bleed and any required margins for eyelets, stitching or standee bases. Logos and text are kept as vector wherever possible so they stay sharp at any size. Web versions are exported in RGB.

Large prints viewed from a distance do not need the same resolution as a business card held in the hand. Your printer’s specification is the best guide; we build files to match it rather than guessing.

How we deliver it

  1. Specifications: you share the exact size, material and where it will be placed; we check the printer’s file requirements.
  2. Message: we agree the one or two things the banner must say, and cut everything else.
  3. Design: a first layout is shared as a scaled preview, with a mockup in context where useful.
  4. Revisions: you review and we refine through agreed rounds.
  5. Final files: print-ready files at full size, plus any web or social versions.

Tools

Large-format work is built mainly in Adobe Illustrator, which handles large dimensions and vector artwork well, with photos prepared in Photoshop. Very large photographic prints need high-quality source images, so we will tell you early if a photo is too small to enlarge cleanly. Stock images and fonts are properly licensed for commercial and outdoor use.

Before final approval, we can show the design as a mockup in a photo of the actual location, such as your shopfront or stall. It is a simple way to check scale and readability before anything is printed.

What affects timeline and cost

  • Number of sizes and formats needed from one design.
  • Complexity of imagery, such as composites or heavy photo retouching.
  • Series work, for example a set of posters for several branches or campaigns.
  • Availability of high-resolution photos and vector logos.

A single banner with clear specifications is usually quick. A campaign with many sizes, locations and formats needs more planning, and we build a master design first so every adaptation stays consistent.

Common mistakes

  • Writing too much text for something seen for a few seconds.
  • Using light text on light backgrounds that disappears outdoors.
  • Enlarging a small logo or photo until it prints blurry.
  • Placing text where eyelets, frames or standee bases will cover it.
  • Designing at the wrong proportions and stretching the file to fit.

Frequently asked questions

Can you design banners in regional languages?

Yes. We regularly work with Hindi and Gujarati alongside English, choosing fonts licensed for commercial use and setting the text so it stays legible from a distance.

What information do you need to start a banner?

The exact size, the material (flex, vinyl, standee), where it will be placed and your printer’s file requirements if you have them.

Can you make a web banner from the same design?

Yes. We adapt the design to website and marketplace banner sizes so online and offline material match.

Why does my old banner look blurry?

Usually because a small image or logo was enlarged beyond its resolution. Vector logos and suitably large photos avoid this.

Do you design exhibition stall graphics?

Yes. We design backdrops, standees and panels to the exhibition’s specified sizes, matching your brochures and cards.
